Answer 1 :
16 Business insurance will not cover anyone younger than 16
Answer 2 :
The other answer is incorrect with respect to Texas law. Generally speaking, under Texas law, a child of 14 years of age or older can work. However, there are significant hours restrictions, as well as limitations on the types of jobs you can work at such a young age. For more detailed information, you should consult the link below, which provides a summary of child labor laws from the Texas Workforce Commission. http://www.twc.state.tx.us/ui/lablaw/cllsum.html

About part-time work in El Paso, TX

Part-time work in El Paso, TX??
I am re-locating to El Paso, TX from Tulsa, OK in order to finish my last year of school at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). I am majoring in Humon Resource Management. I have a wonderful job now as the inside sales manager for a manufacturing firm that supplies carbon composite repair methods for pipelines and refineries. I have searched on "Career Builder", "Monster" and even the local city website. I am having difficulties locating an open position that does NOT require the applicant to be bi-lingual. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Or need part-time office help? (I'd be happy to send my resume). THANKS!!

Are you a US Citizen? Do you go to school? You can get working papers at school-inquire at office to find out who is in charge of work study program, they can get you what's called working papers, they are required for under 16 year olds-I bet school will ALSO have list of jobs in your area as well or check out craigslist for a job-good luck! Have a nice summer!
Answer 2 :
Cool, you live In El Paso, so do I....just get permission from your parents and you also have to go to school and you have to be a Legal U.S citizen

About how difficult is it to live in Cd. Juarez and work in El Paso, Tx

How difficult is it to live in Cd. Juarez and work in El Paso, Tx?
I know it can be done but the hard part is the daily border crossing. Is it easier to walk across and take a bus to work or drive and wait 40 mins. in line every day? In the heat............

Answer 1 :
Its better to walk and get some excersice, than wait and stress out in the traffic. Sometimes they have to go to required searces in your car and that would slow you even more. As when you walk, they only ask for your passport. I hope I helped.
Answer 2 :
It may be a bit difficult to go to work in El Paso every single day since the lines at the border can usually take more than and hour. You may want to consider walking since it seems like less of a wait everyday, and I would recommend taking a bus too, since it is faster than going in a car across the border. You may also ride your own car when you feel that it is too hot outside, after all you don't have to do the same thing everyday.
Answer 3 :
jajaja, funny name!
Answer 4 :
there is a line called express, you have to pay about 100-150 dollards a year, you have a car and register this car as the one you are going to pass on that line, you do not have to wait more than 10 minutes to cross, you could also take the bus but you get a little tired, when there is school time all the people in UTEP cross there early and that is why most of lines are so long, but when they are on vacations the timing to cross is about 20 - 40 minutes, if you are lucky you might even have to wait about 5 minutes, by the way the express line is located on the lerdo bridge(that is how we call it), i do not really know where you could ask for details but you could go to that bridge ans ask them

About can someone explain how the $5000 homestead exemption will work in El Paso, Texas

Can someone explain how the $5000 homestead exemption will work in El Paso, Texas?
I've found some articles about it but I can't read them since I'm at work. We have a very strict Web protector!! Can someone help me with this? Will it be taken off of the homes value? How will it work?
Renting & Real Estate - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
In Texas, the house you live in as your primary residence is given a tax break over a similar investment property you may own. This is called the homestead exemption. The $5,000 will be taken off the overall value of the house (not taken off the tax bill).
Answer 2 :
In El Paso, Texas your property is taxed by several entities on one bill. Depending on where you live, you could pay taxes to a school district, community college, thomason hospital, county of el paso, city of el paso among others. These entities tax you based on the value of your property which is determined by the Central Appraisal District. A homestead exemption will lower the taxable value for the entity granting you the exemption. The schools are required to give a minimum of $15,000 exemption on homestead properties. Other than that, exemptions are pretty much granted at the discretion of the entity. So when El Paso City Coucil approves a $5000 homestead exemption, this lowers your taxable value only for the city's portion of your tax bill. The 2006 tax rate for the city of El Paso was .672326 per $100 in value. A $5000 exemption would result in your tax bill to be lower by $33.62.
